September Gals Becoming Meetup
September 30, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

The CBR Gals Network presents our sixth book club event. Gals, Becoming is a feminist book club that provides a safe space for gals to grow, learn, share ideas and become fuller versions of themselves. Join us over nibbles and drinks for thoughtful conversation, introspection and laughs with some like-minded gals. This month, we’re reading Tara June Winch’s novel, The Yield. It is a story of a people and a culture dispossessed, following our protagonist, August, in her return to country following the death of her grandfather, this story is a celebration of what was and what endures. A powerful reclaiming of Indigenous language, story telling and writing.
Join us for our September “Gals, Becoming” book club online on 30 September, from 6 to 8 PM.
About this Event
FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? All ages are welcome to attend. Our age ranges typically from 19 – 65.
What are the conditions of the “Gals, Becoming” Book Club?
Becoming a member is a monthly commitment. To become a member, attendees must:
- Attend three consecutive monthly meetings, to be held on the last Thursday of each month at a central location.
- Note: After becoming a member, attendance is required at two of every three meetings. We think it’s important for gals to consistently attend meetings in order to form close relationships with other members.
- Come to each meeting well-versed in the chosen book. Gals can “read” the book in whatever format you want, just come ready to chat about the book.
