GALS, BECOMING

Our feminist book club for gals that provides a safe space for women to grow, to learn, to share ideas, and to become fuller versions of themselves.

GALS, BECOMING

Oops! Our "Gals, Becoming" bookclub is closed to new members, but our 2024 bookclub, Gals Evolving, is now open!

welcome, gal

“Gals, Becoming” is a feminist book club that seeks to help its members improve the quality of their lives through learning, growing, and sharing ideas in a safe space.

“Gals, Becoming” meets once per month and draws on publications from around the globe, featuring memoirs, novels, biographies, and short stories from a variety of authors, spotlighting women authors of colour, women authors with disability, and women authors who have overcome patriarchal adversity throughout the ages. The reading provides a holistic view of feminism: viewing feminism as political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.

Our members receive the complete feminist experience: including inclusive discussion, deep learning, and definitely a few laughs with like-minded gals. We explore topics like women’s leadership through history, “off-the-shelf” advice and inspiration from talented authors, and gender issues affecting society.

Hosted by long-time CBR Gal Natalie Udler, “Gals, Becoming” is a great option for feminists who love to read widely, anyone interested in women’s leadership, or the every day gal who is simply keen to be in a group of supportive women.

Mission

Since 2018, the CBR Gals Network has operated as a feminist  not-for-profit that consciously connects and advances Canberran women and amplifies their businesses.

We invite every woman and nonbinary person of every age, profession, and in every season of life to share in the Network.
