GALS, BECOMING
Our feminist book club that provides a safe space to grow, to learn, to share ideas and to become fuller versions of themselves.
GALS, BECOMING
Oops! Our "Gals, Becoming" bookclub is closed to new members, but our 2024 bookclub, Gals Evolving, is now open!
welcome, gal
“Gals, Becoming” is a feminist book club that seeks to help its members improve the quality of their lives through learning, growing and sharing ideas in a safe space.
Meeting once per month, “Gals, Becoming” draws on publications from around the globe, featuring memoirs, novels, biographies and short stories from a variety of authors. We spotlight authors of colour, authors with disabilities, and those who have overcome patriarchal adversity throughout the ages. Our readings provide a holistic view of feminism, understanding it as the political, economic and social equality of all genders.
Our members enjoy a complete feminist experience, including inclusive discussions, deep learning and definitely a few laughs with like-minded individuals. We explore topics like leadership throughout history, “off-the-shelf” advice and inspiration from talented authors and gender issues affecting society.
Hosted by long-time CBR Gals member Natalie Udler, “Gals, Becoming” continues to be a great option for feminists who love to read widely and engage in meaningful conversations. While the club is currently closed to new members, we encourage you to explore our other offerings, including our “Gals, Evolving” bookclub and stay connected for future opportunities.
