About this event

Join us on the 27th of May from 6-9pm for an interactive evening of networking, panels, and keynote speeches, hosted at ANU Kambri aMBUSH Gallery. We’ll have a rich discussion surrounding why economic self-actualisation is a necessary tool to respond to the various economic needs of women, and the tools available to those residing in the Canberra region.

Gendered job loss rates through COVID-19 were 1.8 times higher for women than their male counterparts. Jobs which women disproportionately perform are 19% more at risk than male ones simply because women are disproportionately represented in sectors negatively affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Acknowledging these statistics, this event will present two keynote speeches that traverse topics such as how best to maximize personal savings and superannuation, improved financial planning and literacy skills, and how to make flexible work happen in every workplace, whilst acknowledging the intersectionality and diverse needs of women. These will be followed by a panel discussion.

The recommended ticket cost will cover nibbles and a glass of wine following the event, while we mingle in classic CBR Gals style. Complimentary tickets are available for all university students. Use code “UNI” at checkout. Terms apply.

Any money donated beyond the recommended ticket price will go to Vinnies to support those in need.
