The CBR Gals Network, in partnership with ITP ACT, presents this event. Gals, Becoming is a feminist book club for gals that provides a safe space for women to grow, to learn, to share ideas, and to become fuller versions of themselves. This month, we are reading Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions. Join us for an evening discussion about feminism and the meaning of being a woman in the 21st century, and how we can empower ourselves and the women, non-binary, and queer people around us. Join us for an insightful conversation with like-minded gals.
The event is free to attend, and food and drink are available to purchase.

FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? All ages are welcome to attend. Our age ranges typically from 19 – 65. Must be 18+ to drink alcoholic beverages.
What are the conditions of the “Gals, Becoming” Book Club?
Membership and events are free, but becoming a member is a monthly commitment. To become a member, attendees must:
- Attend three consecutive monthly meetings, to be held on the last Thursday of each month at a central location.
- Note: After becoming a member, attendance is required at two of every three meetings. We think it’s important for gals to consistently attend meetings in order to form close relationships with other members.
- Come to each meeting well-versed in the chosen book. You can “read” the book in whatever format you want, just come ready to chat about the book.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? There is plenty of parking but we recommend rideshare or carpool!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Nope!

Is there any penalty if I RSVP and do not show up? We understand things happen last minute, but our events have limited spots. If something comes up and you don’t cancel your ticket, you will not be allowed to RSVP to our events for the rest of the month. We want every gal to have a chance for a spot!
